TAKE ACTION: Illinois Residents: call your state representative and senator (www.ilga.gov; 217-782-2000) and urge them to OPPOSE the “same-sex marriage” bill, HB 5170, that was just introduced by three openly homosexual lawmakers in Springfield. (Also, ask them to REPEAL the “Civil Unions” bill passed enacted last year.) The Civil Unions law quickly became a tool of anti-religious oppression against Christians, and now it is revealed as a mere stepping-stone for the Homosexual Lobby’s real goal: the revolutionary redefinition of marriage — using the State to advance the absurd idea that sinful “unions” based on (changeable) homosexuality should be awarded equal status with natural marriage.
Religious Freedom? Also please note the audacity of liberals calling the new bill the “Religious Freedom and Marriage Fairness Act” — similar to their artful name for the Civil Unions bill — even though both legal “civil unions” and “gay marriage” would force employers to subsidize immoral homosexual relationships (the very antithesis of “religious liberty”).

Dr. Patrick Wooden, Sr., says the Southern Poverty Law Center is losing credibility by smearing pro-family groups opposed to the homosexual activist movement as "hate groups."
This is Part One of my interview [click HERE to listen] with Dr. Patrick Wooden, pastor at Upper Room Church of God in Christ, in Raleigh, NC. This interview was pre-recorded and aired January 14, 2012. Pastor Wooden will be leading a contingent of African American pastors at an AFTAH-sponsored press conference Tuesday, Jan. 17 outside of the headquarters of the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, AL. The SPLC infamously labeled Americans For Truth and several other Christian pro-family groups as “hate groups” due to their strong opposition to the homosexual activist lobby. (Other groups smeared by the SPLC include Family Research Council, American Family Association and Scott Lively’sAbiding Truth Ministries.)
Wooden is a leader in the effort to preserve the definition of marriage constitutionally in North Carolina as one man, one woman — and he is regularly tarred as a “bigot” and “homophobe” by homosexual activists in his state. Pastor Paul Blair of Fairview Baptist Church in Edmond, OK received death threats and vile threats against his wife after Blair testified against a pro-homosexual law in OK City.
Maybe the “T” in the homosexuals’ and transgenders’ LGBT formula also stands for “Terrorize” — because that’s how at least a portion of America’s radical pro-homosexual activists treat their public opponents. Folks, Pastor Paul Blair of Fairview Baptist Church in Edmond, Oklahoma (a suburb of Oklahoma City) is the latest Christian to be targeted for publicly standing against the homosexual activist movement. Tragically, it has now become commonplace for pro-”queer” thugs to target the Church, even as they decry “hate” against homosexuals. The good news is that charges have been filed against David Michael Moxley, for his alleged crime. (In Oklahoma, the reddest state in the Union, hateful and violent threats against Christians are still taken seriously.) Relating to the Oklahoma City Council meeting yesterday and the action taken to include sexual orientation as a protected class, I wanted to make you aware of the threats that I have received here at the church within the last 24 hours.

As a pastor, I did not even reference scripture in opposition to this policy. My points were, first, that the policy was unnecessary because the city and city attorneys clearly stated that there was currently and had not been discrimination based upon sexual orientation. Second, it was unprecedented in that we would be creating a special class of protection based upon someone’s behavior. This was not a civil rights issue. We are not talking about race or gender, but behavior. And finally, I reminded the council that this was a GLBT effort and to remember the “T”. With a policy to provide special protection for transgenders, it would be discriminatory to forbid a man from using the ladies shower or restroom in City Buildings. What about the rights of women? As you know, the measure passed 7-2.
This is Part One of AFTAH’s interview with Professor Ken Howell, Senior Fellow at the School of Catholic Thought of the John Paul II Newman Center, which resides at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Prof. Howell was fired (and the reinstated) by the University of Illinois (Champaign) last year for teaching the Catholic “Natural Moral Law” understanding of homosexuality.
